There have been
multiple rumors surrounding Neymar regarding both his financial legal battles and
now his possible leave from FC Barca.
However, Neymar’s father, who is also his manager, has denied
accusations that his son has signed with Manchester United, although he does
admit offers are on the table. According
to ESPN Brasil, Neymar has signed a five year, with two more years left on it, contract with Barcelona, but due to his ongoing legal issues no official announcement has been made about his possible early termination. One deterrent may be the €143.3m release clause that would face Manchester United. According to Neymar and his father, they would like to stay with FC Barca, and the club would like to keep Neymar as well. A quote from Neymar Sr. reads, “Other offers are coming in again, but Barca are gearing up to be able to reject and avoid them.”
Do
you think Barcelona should keep Neymar regardless of his various legal
troubles? Does this have any direct or indirect impact on the Club itself?

In my opinion Neymar will not leave FCB unless he is forced to due to his legal reasons. Neymar has made himself a home in FCB and more importantly has a mentor in Messi. Mentors are hard to come by and having arguably the best player in the world as your mentor is something that exceeds monetary values. Neymar is young and has a lot of potential and with Messi's guidance he should be able to achieve his full potential. In my opinion his best option is to stay in Barcelona and learn from one of the greatest soccer players of all time.
ReplyDeleteI really don't see any scenario where Neymar leaves Barcelona anytime soon and especially not for Manchester United. Neymar is so young and already a top player on the planet, Barcelona will want him to be entering his prime when Messi is at the back end of his career. With those two in the team, Barcelona will always be one of if not the best team in the world. As for United, they are looking like a Europa League side this year and really lack attacking options up front. Of course Neymar would help with this, but I don't see him wanting to be the only option on a team struggling for attacking creativity.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I can honestly concede that I am not the biggest soccer fan, ever since coming to Barcelona I have paid more and more attention to the sport. I have always loved Neymar and have thought he is so entertaining thus a move to Manchester United would be crazy. Given his age there is no doubt in my mind that he makes a club move at some point in his career and I would personally love if he finished off by coming to the MLS! I'm sure that contract would make him a lot of money.
ReplyDeleteI think Neymar could leave Barcelona relatively (assuming he is given the right amount of money). Neymar is the future of football and I think FCB would be crazy to let him go. However, I think a lot of clubs realize his superstar ability and potential and thus would be willing to make an iconic deal to get him out of Barcelona. Although there aren't that many clubs that can afford Neymar, I think Man U, Barca, and Real Madrid would be on the top of the list for paying him. However, Neymar is reportedly in talks over a move to Paris Saint-Germain, despite claims he agreed a new five-year contract at Barcelona last week. No matter where Neymar ends up, I think the contract he signs will be one of the highest in football history.
